Canada’s Rock Skipping Championship
Pleasant Paddling hosts the Canada's Rock Skipping Championship.
We have been Nova Scotia's provincial tournament for years and this year have donned the mantle of Canada's Championship! We have stopped pretending we weren't Canada's top rock skipping event. With this change comes others. We are now competing for the furthest rock skipped. Our event will now be more similar to the Stone Skimming World Champion's in Scotland including a maximum 3" diameter for the rocks thrown.
We continue to be the World Championship's for Rocks Skip Jump! Rock Skip Jump requires the thrower to be in the air jumping into the water while their rock is thrown. Our event hosted the world record throw of 23 skips in 2019 as well as a record distance 56m in 2025.
This is a charity event for ProKids in Lunenburg County.. All funds raised at this event will be donated to ProKids Recreation Funding Programs in Lunenburg County!
We'll have "Blue" rocks available to throw but everyone is encouraged to bring their own rocks as well. Rocks must be 3" in diameter or smaller. All ages welcome with kids under 12 years old throwing free. Prizes! Bring your throwing arms and be prepared to jump in the ocean for the "Rocks Skip Jump".
PROKids is a local organization granting financial support to families for children to participate in recreation and extra-curricular activities. For more information on PROKids visit their website here !
Big News! The winner of this year's NSRSC automatically qualifies for the World Stone Skimming Championship is Scotland. The Championship takes place on the Easdale Island on the west coast in a slate quarry. Throw well with us and book your trip to Scotland!
